Howard had no middle name. He worked as a clerk in a grocery store. Most of the grocery business was by delivery - twice a day. He met Una Mae in Indianopolis and was married in 1902, moved to Chicago in 1905 - Dad was age 2. Howard and Una Mae moved to Chicago to be near the Wahigrens (her mother and stepfather).
Howard had a job with Todd and Gerkhe grocery store on Broadway near Belmont. He moved in with Grandma Wahlgren at first, then rented 1900 block on Western Avenue, 1905 - 06. Then Grandma Grayson built a house with money she inherited from Uncle Lafe (Lafayette Heidell) next to her mother's house at 4824 Bell Avenue.
