Note: there are two Dirk Verhages in Ouddorp, Netherlands listed on Rootsweb. The son (b. 1794, d. 1839) had two wives, and children of the second wife only are listed. It is highly likely that this Dirk would have named his first son Dirk, and so it is possible that
he is the father of our Dirk, who was born about 1815-1819. The first wife died before 1815, so he could be the child of either wife.
However, there is also this entry in the marriage records of Texel, Zuid Holland:
