Here is a letter from the Archives in Sweden concerning the family of Carl
August Lind.

Dear Sir,

Your letter to the Mayor of Vetlanda has been handed over to the Provin-
cial Archives in Vadsten via the Registrar's office in Vetlanda, as the 
church records of Småland and Östergötland before 1895 are kept here.

Claës Gustaf Lind was born June 11, 1864 in Vetlanda parish as a son of the
worker Carl August Lind, accord. to the household examination roll, born
Oct. 13, 1828 in Kråkshult parish and Gustafva Adamsdotter, born Oct.
18, 1828 in Björkö parish.  They had the following children, all born in
Vetlanda parish:

Johanna Augusta, b. June 8, 1858, emigrated to N. America, July 16, 1882.

Johan August, b. Sept. 24, 1860, dead Febr. 12, 1871

Carl Frithiof, b. Dec. 17, 1862, dead Dec. 24

Claës Gustaf, see above,        emigr. to N. America, March 26, 1883

Anna Sofia Elisabeth, b. May 24, 1867

Carl Wilhelm Gottfrid, b. Oct. 16, 1870, emigr. to N. America Febr.
29, 1888.

The family lived at the small cottage Ekelund under the farm Hult, from 
1865 Skoarp under Vetlanda postgård and from 1886 Åkersdal under the
same farm.

In 1895 when the last here kept household examination roll of Vetlanda ends,
the parents and one daughter still are living at Åkersdal under Vetlanda
postgård.  For further nformation you must write to the registrar's
