A newspaper item with photo of Claus and Alice, after voting in 1952 -- Both Vote For Ike At 88 Mr. and Mrs. Claus G. Lind, 1728 Crawford street, took advantage of the free auto service of all auto dealers to the polls today when they called the Boone Auto company. Both Mr. and Mrs. Lind are 88 years old and both have voted in nearly every presidential election since they were eligible, Lind voting for President Harrison at his first time at the polls and his wife, Alice, voting for President Garfield. Asked how they voted for president today both were emphatic about Eisenhower although Mr. Lind admitted he "scratched " his ballot on other races. Mr. Lind was a superintendent of an orphan's home at Stanton, back in 1892 but lived near Dayton for 50 years prior to coming to Boone. Pictured with Mr. and Mrs. Lind is Noel Neely, who is sporting the extra chin whiskers in connection with the centennial celebration of the auto firm. (News-Republican photo and engraving)
